What are you hungry for? Thats a question that we ask ourselves every night at just about the same time. When it's time to begin the preparations for the evening meals we sometimes aren't quite sure what we're hungry for and a trip to the local grocery store enters into the evening. If you live in Gibraltar or are considering moving to the area, part of the questions that we hear asked the most often have to do with where to find groceries and what types of foods are available. Will they be able to find the things that they like and are accustomed to. Many people believe because of the proximity to Spain and Africa that the foods they want to purchase aren't going to be available to them, and they will be left with spiced foods, or things they may not care for when it comes time to cook the evening meal. Gibraltar's grocery stores are not only full featured, they offer you the same foods, and in fact the same brands, that you are used to getting. Stores such as Safeway and Morrisons are part of the landscape of Gibraltar, selling the same products that you might find in a grocery store in London or Cheltenham. The products are the same quality and the same items that you'd expect to buy in the UK but there is one major difference of course. If you couldn't afford it in the UK proper, chances are that you can in Gibraltar. Prices are lower for identical goods and thats not a change that any of us would mind. |
